West Ham United granted permission for London Stadium capacity increase
West Ham United is delighted to confirm that planning permission has been granted to increase the matchday capacity at London Stadium to 62,500.

With an extra 2,500 seats to be released once the safety certificate application has been completed, West Ham United will be able to once again look forward to breaking the Club’s attendance record and welcoming more of our loyal supporters to Hammers matches.

We're going to need a bigger bar.

Take us up to the 2nd highest capacity stadium in the Prem, going above Arsenal and also the Y's.

It will bother them far more than it will bother us.

Re: West Ham United granted permission for London Stadium capacity increase
Won't be the last increase either. Been long rumoured we will eventually take up the full capacity which is 67k. Keep progressing and we will fill it no problem. Probably could now as we are, for the big games.

Bet Levy is a tiny bit irked by this as they built 61k to have bragging rights over Arsenal and I suspect the London clubs everyone else bar Man U.

The ground wasn't full Sunday.

Brentford

"rumoured"... it's been the public aim of the club to do that for years.

We would sell out 67k for big games though I suspect that would be an extra 7k of tourists and away fans on a regular basis.

Johnson is right re Spurs.

My daughter couldn't go and I put her ticket on Exchange. It didn't sell and I saw many others online that didn't sell.

Liverpool and Man Utd are the only matches guaranteed to sell out at present including on ticket exchange.

That game was supposedly our 15th biggest ever gate there, Johnson.

A case of massaging the figures, or people buying tickets and not turning up?

jesus fucking christ so there were a few empty seats for a 2pm ko

The Spurs game looked full and was a sell out, as is tonight.
They'll always be those that bought tickets but can't or don't go for various reasons and few unsold single seats.

So there were a few empty seats on Sunday, who cares. It was packed where I was sitting and if there were empty seats dotted about it amounts to nothing of significance. The stadium was full.

Except for the away section after Antonio scored. Hahaha.

Johnson still trying to find negatives in everything.

Last season we gained the highest number of points that we have ever got in the premier league and qualified for Europe.

This season we are currently 4th in the league and on the verge of qualifying for the knockout stages in Europe.

We haven’t had it this good for decades.

Yet the likes of Johnson are still looking at things to bitch about.

Mind you this is coming from the guy who was adamant that the PAI consortium would be a great thing for West Ham!

Johnson 2:07 Wed Oct 27
Re: West Ham United granted permission for London Stadium capacity increase
Attendance figures are based on tickets sold not people who actually show up.

There were lots of tickets on ticket trader but these will be counted as "sold" for the purposes of the published attendance.

Actual showing up this season is a hell of a lot better than it used to be when the club would publish a sell-out every week when there was demonstrably 10-15k empty seats.

But the FACT is games rarely end up with no tickets to be had, the club's GREEDY matchday pricing regime needs to be careful it doesn't price folk out.

AND, the club needs to stop selling to away fans in the home ends or bulk selling tickets to agencies that sell tickets to away fans in the home ends.

I reported a FACT, apologies that upsets you so much.

And you followed up some crying with a lie about my views on PAI.

Fantastic post otherwise swindon, double thumbs up.

Re: West Ham United granted permission for London Stadium capacity increase
Our attendance (and support) is fucking great.

To regularly get over 20k a game more than we did at Upton Park probably proves that it was WAY too small for us, even if we were able to improve/extend it to 40k which was proposed.

Quite a few thought that the novelty would have worn off a bit by now (me included).

The Official site says tonight is sold out but ticketing has 2 seats available. It's all lies, lies, lies.... hu should have a protest about it

Re: West Ham United granted permission for London Stadium capacity increase
Unless you've changed the meaning of the word full, oioi confirming there was empty seats cannot possibly equate to the stadium being full.

Why do you lot get so precious and upset about facts?

Extremely childlike behaviour.

Lee Trundle 2:08 Wed Oct 27

The Europa and League Cup games have been fantastically well supported.

I think in part the good support is BECAUSE the novelty has worn off for the newbies and tourists who got caught up supporting a stadium rather than a football team and they've fucked off meaning more actual fans can go.

I doubt Newham council is buying 10k tickets to give away to divs like Rylan either anymore too.

It is A LOT better in the ground than it used to be.

The board need to make sure they don't get too greedy and fuck it up again.

Who's getting precious? You posted something that isn't true.

I was in the ground and it was full.

Re: West Ham United granted permission for London Stadium capacity increase
I’m not sure the match day pricing is greedy. It’s in line with other premier league clubs.

My cat 1 season ticket works out at £45 per game. My sons £13 per game. So whilst if you can only get to the odd game it’s more expensive those who can go regularly are getting great value.
